Why EISA exists

Africa does not lack talent. What remains uneven is access.

Many capable people and enterprises remain excluded because they cannot reach the information, markets, finance, networks, technology or institutional support required to progress. EISA exists to help bridge these gaps.

Economic exclusion is rarely caused by a single barrier. It is typically the result of several disadvantages reinforcing one another — and it is removed the same way, through coordinated solutions rather than isolated interventions.

Read the economic inclusion challenge
  1. Stage 01

    Access

EISA enables: Knowledge, networks, markets, capital pathways, technology and institutions

Barriers become visible, understandable and navigable.

  2. Stage 02

EISA enables: Skills, compliance, business capability, mentorship and investment preparation

People and enterprises become better equipped to pursue opportunity.

  3. Stage 03

    Participation

EISA enables: Buyer links, investor engagement, procurement, trade, programmes and partnerships

Beneficiaries enter real economic relationships and transactions.

  4. Stage 04

    Growth

EISA enables: Continuity, learning, ecosystem support and expanded opportunity

Enterprises, livelihoods and local economies become more resilient.

Strategic pillars

Six pillars that define what EISA seeks to change

Programmes are the instruments through which that change is delivered.

01

Enterprise Development & Economic Participation

EISA supports entrepreneurs, SMMEs, emerging enterprises and community-based businesses to develop the capability and connections required for sustainable participation. Programmes address business readiness, compliance, management, mentorship, sector development and township and rural enterprise growth.

02

Investment & Access to Finance

EISA helps reduce the distance between capital and opportunity. It prepares and showcases enterprises and projects, facilitates appropriate connections, and helps founders understand funder expectations. EISA facilitates access; it does not represent itself as a funder or guarantee finance.

03

Trade & Market Access

EISA supports businesses seeking domestic, regional and international markets through export readiness, trade education, buyer-supplier engagement, procurement visibility, industry relationships and African cross-border opportunity.

04

Knowledge, Skills & Capacity Development

EISA provides practical, accessible learning led by practitioners, institutions and specialists. Its programmes prioritise applicable knowledge over broad motivation, covering entrepreneurship, finance, regulation, digital skills and sector-specific capability.

05

Inclusive Innovation & Opportunity

EISA deliberately designs for women, youth, persons with disabilities, township and rural communities, emerging entrepreneurs and historically underserved businesses. Innovation and technology are applied where they reduce barriers or open new pathways.

06

Convening, Policy & Economic Dialogue

EISA brings government, industry, investors, academia, communities and development actors together around defined challenges and opportunities. Summits, forums, roundtables, research and policy dialogue convert fragmented perspectives into coordinated action.

Impact & measurement

We measure more than attendance

EISA's framework distinguishes activity from access, participation and meaningful economic change. Verified figures will be published as programmes are delivered and independently reviewed.

Access
Knowledge resources delivered, referrals made, institutions reached, accessibility provided and opportunities surfaced.
Readiness
Completed assessments, compliance progress, business plans, pitch materials, skills gains and mentor engagements.
Participation
Buyer meetings, funding applications, procurement entries, export actions, partnerships and programme completion.
Economic outcomes
Revenue growth, jobs supported, contracts secured, capital raised, markets entered and enterprise survival.
Systems influence
Institutional commitments, policy inputs, programme redesign, new partnerships and recurring investment in inclusion.

Partnership invitation

No single institution can solve economic exclusion alone

EISA is designed as a partnership platform. Partnerships are built around shared objectives, defined roles, credible delivery and transparent measures.
